Title: Advanced Manufacturing Engineer (AME)

Job Description:
Plans, directs and coordinates manufacturing processes in industrial plants:
oDevelops, evaluates and improves manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, quality control, and corporate standards.
Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and designs layout of equipment and work space for maximum efficiency.
Confers with vendors to determine process specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluates products according to specifying actions and quality standards.
Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing production processes.
Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements, process improvements and potential capacity.
Interaction and involvement with multiple functional groups within Johnson Controls is necessary to successfully execute the requirements of this position.
oExamples of those groups are: Global Product Centers (GPCs), Business Units (BU's), Operations (Ops), Product Engineering, Finance, etc.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
Outlined below are the primary responsibilities separated by phase.
o"0": New Product and Process Development Phase
o"1": Proposal / New Project Quote Phase
o"2": Design and Development Phase
o"3": Design Verification Phase
o"4": Production Verification Phase
o"5": Launch / SOP Phase
o"6": Production / End of Program Life
Phase 1-5 requirements are outlined in the JCI launch process generally referred to as PLUS (Product Launch System) and represent the minimum requirements for program support.
Job functions must be performed in accordance with the Company Quality Policy.
Support the comprehensive continuous improvement philosophy for all Johnson Controls disciplines.
Execution of the Phase 1-5 deliverables will be measured by a Corporate Launch Success Goal of: "0" safety Incidents, "0" delivery misses, 100% efficient, 100% to the CAR financial goals, within 30 days of the start of volume production.
Successful candidates must have the ability to travel in North America and abroad upon occasion

Education:
A Bachelor's Degree is required in Manufacturing Technologies or a related field (I.e.: Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Plastics, etc) or equivalent experience.

Technical Requirements:
Microsoft Applications AutoCad (for Line and Plant Layout activity)
Time Studies
Technical Report Writing
Working Knowledge of Equipment Design / Evaluation / and Qualification
Working knowledge of Industrial Safety and Ergonomics
Working knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers
Working knowledge of Product Design Process (Tolerancing, DFMEA, Datum Schemes, etc)
Working knowledge of Injection Molding Process (Tooling, Processing, Material Selection, etc)
Cost Justification / Payback / and Internal Rate of Return Due to space limitations all phases are explained in detail in the attachment.
