Quality Assurance Inspector

Job Description:
Use of measurement tools and techniques to ensure product sent to the customer meets specific criteria in a plastic molding facility.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or Equivalent
Minimum 2 years as an inspector
Ability to use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators,
Read and interpret drawings and specifications.
Inspect material to an inspection test plan
Identify and report non-conformances
Strong knowledge of mathematical operations (e.g. measure conversions)
Know and understand basic quality terms, definitions and concepts.
Must understand types of measurement, measurement terminology and the different types of measurement scales.
Must be able to identify/recognize inspection errors and initiate resolution.
Basic blueprint reading skills
Must be able to use an inspection test plan, perform product inspection and pull random samples.
Ability to work independently with little or no supervision
Basic computer knowledge
Desired Skills:
American Society for Quality Certified Mechanical Inspector
3 years working in plastic injection molding facility
Knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Systems
Knowledge of calibration requirements/procedures
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)
Blueprint Reading
Continuous Improvement Techniques
Internal Auditing
Inspection Points (e.g. receiving, in-process, final, source, first article)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office software suite
Sampling (AQL levels, sampling tables)
Experience using OGP or CMM
