| Process Technician IN 45 - 50k (J#24213) Education: High School Experience: 4 - 9 years Job Purpose Statement: This position is responsible for technically supporting the molding operation. Qualified candidates must have extensive hands on understanding of processing, troubleshooting plastic injection molding (structural Foam) machines. Job Responsibilities: Perform programming of molding machines Trouble-shoot molding process issues (flash, short-shots, sinks, splay, etc) Assist in performing mold changes and set ups as required within scheduled mold change time frames utilizing process and cycle sheets. Perform new tool sampling for new projects. perform start-up and shut down procedures. Troubleshoot mold problems, develop root cause and provide a quick permanent corrective action. Perform minor maintenance repair if needed. Change-out/purge and maintain material as needed. maintain proper safety conditions of equipment and company assets. Comply with all standard safety practices, safety guidelines and all company guidelines and policies. back-up shift supervisor as needed to cover for time-off or vacation. proactively contribute, evaluate and support continuous improvement projects throughout the plant. Qualifications: Must possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience processing and troubleshooting plastic injection molding machines; ideally with mold-set up experience. demonstrated the basic knowledge of the injection molding process and ability to learn inner working of injection molding process. demonstrate mechanical aptitude and trouble-shooting abilities. apply scientific molding principles to daily troubleshooting of machines and having training or experience in RJG is preferred. demonstrated understanding of a wide variety of material variations and can apply processing principles. two year technical degree required extensive computer experience in working with word and excel. working knowledge of hand tools, diagrams, blue prints, and measuring instruments. ability to visually identify defective parts with appropriate gauges. ability to hear machine operation sounds that may indicate defective parts, machine failures, changes in speed, and other routine running conditions. ability to lift 75 pounds. manual and finger dexterity. must be able to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. must be able to work extended hours and/or overtime as required. must be able to work on alternate shifts as required. must be able to participate in job development training, such as cross training, troubleshooting and team development training.
