Process Technician IA Open (J#21783)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

Position Summary:
Responsible for molding process; establishing processes, troubleshooting processes, and optimizing processes. Provide leadership by example for other employees by doing set-ups, start-ups, troubleshooting, and helping with problem solving and corrective actions.

Essential Job Duties & Functions:

Optimize molding process and troubleshoot problems with existing processes.
Set-up presses and equipment with an understanding of quick mold change process.
Start-up and adjust machines.
Investigate malfunction of machines, molds, and equipment to determine need for repairs.
Work with supervisor and process engineers to resolve processing issues.
Help resolve and identify solutions to corrective items.
Communicate, abide by, and support company policies and safety regulations.
Identify safety hazards and take appropriate steps to correct them.
Complete mold changes as necessary.
Perform periodic inspection rounds.
Attend training sessions as required.
Support other technicians/mold setters/material handlers/supervisors as needed.

Qualifications (Education, Experience & Other Skills):

Minimum of 2 years hands on experience in a molding environment required.
Scientific Molding knowledge and experience preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Good communication skills (written and oral).
Ability to perform as part of a team.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and a high degree of detail.
Ability to understand and apply the basic principles of Statistical Process Control (SPC).
Demonstrate how to perform a mold change, start-up, shut-down, and operate a molding machine, a firm understanding of injection molding theory and practice, and a mechanical aptitude.
Ability to stand or sit for long periods of time in one particular area such as in front of a machine, instrument, or at a keyboard.
Ability to use hands to handle, rotate, or feel products, or controls, tools, etc.; handle products that weigh less than one pound and lift and/or move packaged product up to 100 pounds; see close up, distinguish color; demonstrate manual dexterity to handle parts, adjust gauges and adjust instruments smaller than inch
Ability to accurately distinguish between very small measurements (ex .001 versus .01)
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Reliable transportation to and from work
