Mold Repair NC Open (J#22308)
Education: High School
Experience: 4 - 9 years

South Carolina Plastics in Fountain Inn, South Carolina is looking for an experienced Plastics Mold Repari Technician.

The qualified candidate will have at least 4 years experience setting, troubleshooting, and repairing Injection Plastics Molds.

The following is a list of job responsibilities:

Exercise necessary safety precautions
Maintenance and repair of injection molds including welding, and polishing as well as spare parts management
Work from complicated drawings and specifications
Use a wide variety of precision instruments for exacting measurements
Perform difficult machining operations requiring complicated set-ups involving the improvising of tooling and machines for the adaptations beyond the normal range and capacities of available equipment
Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, calibrate, adjust, assemble and finish work
May act as lead person on any given tooling project, allocating work to tool room personnel specializing in the various areas of machining and bench operations Select allowances and materials and proceed from own conception in absence of design and specifications
Assume responsibility for quality workmanship and dimensional accuracy
Clean and oil machines and maintain clean and orderly work area Support the documentation to tool charges
Prepare sketches for mold sections
Participate in Continuous Improvement Process
Plan and repair maintenance of the molds
Gives technical support to the designer according to the mold design
Coordination with outside repairs and changes

Additional requirements:

Some heavy lifting may be required as well as applying heavy torques using large hand tools. Work must sometimes be performed in awkward position. Climbing up and down ladders required
Experience with injection molding
Fabricate parts using machine tools and hands on skills
Use gages to determine dimensional requirements
Be able to handle pressure, interruptions and meet deadlines
Must be able to work flexible working hours
Milling, turning, drilling and grinding machines
CNC technology
Thorough knowledge of the lock-out/tag-out procedures
Basic understanding of electrical power circuitry
