| Engineering Technician IL Open (J#24196) Education: Associates Degree Experience: 1 - 3 years GENERAL DESCRIPTION JOB SUMMARY The Metrologist/Engineering Technician provides quality engineering support to Engineering, Quality and Production operations. In conjunction with the Quality Manager and others, plans and directs activities concerned with the development, application and maintenance of quality programs for processes, materials and products. Member of the APQP Team. Coordinate Quality Activities necessary to support PPAP and Production launches. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1.Analyze and evaluate laboratory results using statistical methods and present the requested information in an appropriate manner. 2.Develop and control implementation of SPC techniques to assure ongoing process performance including analysis of ongoing process capabilities and make proposals for process improvements. 3.Develop and initiate methods for inspection, sampling, testing and evaluation. 4.Design and develop forms, work instructions and procedures for recording, evaluating and reporting quality and reliability data. 5.Perform PPAP submissions for Customer approval. 6.Attend APQP meetings related to new and existing products. 7.Apply knowledge of all laboratory equipment and test methods. 8.Assist with customer complaint investigations including root cause identification and corrective actions. 9.Initiate investigation and/or supply support for production quality related issues, including the determination of root cause and problem resolution. 10.Provide training for quality related issues, including development of training materials and programs. 11.Use CMM and Seebrez CNC Inspection system. 12.Perform various other miscellaneous duties as required. EDUCATION/WORK EXPERIENCE Engineering diploma or general education degree (GED); plus five years in the automotive industry. Post-secondary education related to quality functions and/or manufacturing preferred. ASQ/CQE certification preferred. Previous quality assurance experience in an ISO/ TS manufacturing environment, with previous work experience in a molding operation strongly desired. Applicable PC skills Statistical application and evaluation skills Good communication skills, both writing and speaking LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with others. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
