Leggett & Platt, Incorporated is seeking a highly skilled, resourceful Engineering Manager to join our Matrex facility based in Greensboro, North Carolina. Matrex is a quality manufacturer of seating technologies and serves customers in the residential and office furnishings, automotive, and bedding industries.

Essential Responsibilities:

Champion automation, product development, and continuous improvement opportunities for injection molded products

Inventory control, forecasting, safety, OSHA and ISO 9001 compliance

Scheduling and personnel management

Facilitate key manufacturing parameters including equipment capacity, strategy, and cycle time

Develop specifications for injection molding manufacturing equipment

Lead team in analyzing and developing FMEA activities for new products and equipment

Support company initiatives including cost reduction, product acquisition, and policy implementation

Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering

10-15 years hands-on experience in plastics injection molding, complex assembly, and automation, including 5 years management experience in a lean manufacturing environment

Desired Skills and Knowledge:

Experience working with CNC, Robotics, PLCs, SolidWorks, or Pro-E

Development of teams within a growing manufacturing operation

Knowledge of tool design and quality methods including APQP or phase gate release processes

Working knowledge of resins, physical properties, and test methods

Experience with customer management, supplier sourcing, and product costing

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
