Description This is an ideal job for a Chief Scientist that will provide you the intellectual and technical challenges of a highly diverse manufacturing/engineering experience. As part of our clients creative engineering team you will have direct impact on the creation of their innovative state-of-the-art products. This is a new role where you will have free will to research, create, test, optimize, and manufacture a new prototype for our companys product line.

The ideal candidate will have a BSME, ten years experience in the design of precision machine design, plastic, bearings, die cast, carbon fiber composite or machined parts and products as well as GD& T experience. PhD expertise desired.

Essential Functions:

- Investigate new innovative technology to create a prototype of a new precision machine to be produced for top clients. - Research multiple aspects of the prototype from the materials used for each part to the design and functionality of the system. - Design test standards for prototype and document all tests performed. - Design mechanical parts, assemblies, systems and fixtures as part of development of new products and support of existing products. - Prepare 3D CAD models and detailed dimensioned drawings of parts and assemblies utilizing CAD tools. - Optimize designs for production using DFA/DFM principles and Concurrent Engineering. - Perform mechanical finite element analysis (FEA) of part and assembly designs. - Develop and implements test plans for mechanical assemblies and procedures, fixtures and tools for incoming inspection of custom machined parts and production assembly of mechanical systems. - Fabricate, assemble and test prototypes to verify performance to design criteria. - Consistently develop unique and innovative approaches in the solution of critical problems and broad design issues, impacting the product success and addressing future products and technologies.
