We are an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. SUMMARY OF POSITION: Responsible for the successful implementation and interpretation of personnel practices and policies. The incumbents responsibilities include employment, policy interpretation and administration, employee relations, training, compensation, benefits, and other duties as necessary to ensure maximum effectiveness of the Human Resources function. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.Assist the Plant HR Manager with various aspects of the human resources field; act on his/her behalf in absences. 2.Assist HR Manager in strategy development for the HR function to align with sites strategy and business objectives. 3.Recruiting 4.Ensures the efficient, timely, and cost effective recruitment of qualified candidates for approved positions, utilizing various sources, and developing and implementing recruitment strategies in line with the business needs. 5.Develops resources to identify and cultivate qualified candidates for open positions. 6.Identifies and reviews qualifications of potential candidates through resumes, phone screening, interviewing, reference checking, and verification of educational degrees. 7.Ensures timely and accurate completion of appropriate paperwork required for employment. 8.Creates, reviews, and approves job postings and as necessary employment advertising for open positions. 9.Conducts new hire orientation 10.Policy Development, Interpretation and Administration 11.May develop and write human resources policies. 12.Ensures consistent and accurate policy interpretation. 13.Assists in required personnel functions such as disciplinary procedures and appropriate corresponding paperwork/documentation. 14.Employee Relations 15.Provides policy and procedure explanation to newly hired employees and current employees, as necessary. 16.Demonstrates company advocacy in dealing with internal and external customers. 17.Communicates with employees in resolving conflicts and acting as a mediator in facilitating resolution. 18.Advises management and supervisors on employee relation issues. Conducts employee investigations and ensures consistency in resolution of employee relations issues. 19.Organization Development and Training 20.Assists in identifying training needs; identifies outside training providers; conducts training programs; assists in assessing training effectiveness. 21.Prepares for and participates in sites succession planning and performance feedback sessions, Talent & Leadership Review (TLR), held at the site. 22.Compensation and Benefits 23.Assists in administering the compensation and benefits changes associated with personnel transactions including merit increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, terminations, and leaves of absence. Ensures accuracy of personnel files and documentation. 24.Coordination and introduction of company benefits programs to new and existing employees. Annual enrollment and roll out of new benefits on a yearly basis. 25.Reviews performance appraisals of employees for consistency and ensures wage increases comply with current compensation practice. 26.Reviews job descriptions for positions for consistency across the site. Determines need for new positions as necessary, working with other members of department to determine appropriate level. Ensures all administrative paperwork is complete for new and modified positions (e.g. job codes, official job description, etc.). Requirements Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required in Human Resources Management, Business, Communications or similar field. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years Human Resources Generalist experience; manufacturing experience preferred; PHR/SPHR certification preferred. | |||
